At long last, this model is ready for professional filming.
The addition of hte VectorDD Brushless GoPro Gimbal, which replaced the Jakub Quadframe gopro Gimbal on Jakub Quadframe Landing Legs, makes the difference on this machines fliming attributes!
In this rebuild, we tear down Otto, which is a small 25cm class UAV with an ArdupilotMega w/GPS navigation and turn it into an OpenPilot sport quad! We start by removing the top protector plate and exposing the GPS module.
So I decide to get the KK2 flying and tuned up for a small performance type quad. Icarus is a samll CF frame with powerful motors and 8 inch props, perfect for the experiment.
First I removed the KK board that was on on it.
Next I needed a mounting system, so I used a trusty 45 degree FC adapter/ PDB from GLB
SO this started as a desire to build one quad that could have interchangeable motors, ESCs and flight controller but ended up being a way more fun that it should have been :)
I started with my newest favorite frame, teh Hobby king SK-450 which is an Xaircraft Clone.
As I have explained in the past, RD28 was an experiment that never flew safely. Although I always wanted a shrediquette, It was not practical and never flew correctly, so by recycling it, I have 6 motors, ESCs and a CopterControl to repurpose.
